Miao Diocese Comes Together Online to Pray for World Peace
The Miao Diocese gathered online to pray for world peace, unity, families, and youth, highlighting how faith and prayer can inspire hope amid conflict.
Miao, Arunachal Pradesh, October 9, 2026: Amid growing conflicts and tensions across the world, the Diocese of Miao united in prayer through an online Rosary service held on Tuesday evening, October 6, on the occasion of the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
The virtual prayer brought together 42 participants representing different groups within the diocese, including priests, youth, women religious, and other members of the Church community. United by a shared intention, they prayed for peace in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, the surrounding region, and throughout the world.
The participants also offered prayers for the Church, families, young people, bishops, priests, religious communities, and unborn children, reflecting their concern for peace, faith, and the dignity of human life.
Bishop Encourages Daily Prayer
Salesian Bishop George Pallipparambil of Miao, who helped organize the gathering, reminded participants of the importance of the Rosary in confronting evil and responding to conflict through faith and prayer. He encouraged the faithful to make the Rosary a regular part of their daily spiritual lives, particularly during the month dedicated to the Rosary.
Representing the women's group, Monica Lowang recalled the historic Battle of Lepanto and the traditional Catholic association of the Rosary with prayers for protection and peace. She encouraged the faithful to continue praying for peace in Manipur and across the world.
The gathering was enriched by seminarians from Miao, whose singing was led by Father Barnabas, the rector. Their participation brought a sense of fellowship and spiritual unity to the online service, despite the physical distance between participants.
Prayers for Families, Youth, and Human Life
Mungtang Mossang, representing the men's group, offered prayers for unborn children, asking that they be welcomed into a peaceful world where every human life is valued and respected.
Salesian Sister Mary Kolom represented the women religious and prayed for missionaries serving in the diocese, bishops, priests, religious communities, and families.
Theresa Wangsu, a regional youth executive member from the Diocese of Miao, led prayers for young people, especially those who had become distant from the Church. She expressed the hope that, through the guidance and intercession of Mother Mary, they would return to the Church and rediscover their path towards Christ.
Although some participants experienced poor internet connectivity, they remained united in prayer until the Rosary concluded, demonstrating their commitment to faith and their shared desire for peace.
A Call to Build Peace in Every Heart
In his concluding remarks, Auxiliary Bishop Dennis Panipitchai thanked everyone who had set aside their work and responsibilities to participate. He encouraged the faithful to pray not only for peace in the world, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh, but also for peace within families and individual hearts.
The bishop described the Rosary as a means of finding peace amid personal struggles and highlighted its role in bringing believers closer to Jesus through the guidance of Mary. Echoing the teaching of St. John Paul II, he presented the Rosary as a school of discipleship and contemplation, helping Christians reflect on the life and teachings of Christ.
The online Rosary was organized by the Commission for Evangelization of the Diocese of Miao as a spiritual initiative marking the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.
The gathering served as a reminder that prayer can bring people together across distances, strengthen Christian fellowship, and encourage a shared commitment to peace, compassion, and hope.
