Justice Sunday Observed at Ascension Church, Bengaluru
“Justice Begins with Us,” calling parishioners to promote justice, peace, equality and respect for human dignity through their daily lives.
Ascension Church in Bengaluru observed Justice Sunday with the theme “Justice Begins with Us,” inviting the parish community to reflect on the importance of justice, peace and human dignity in everyday life. The celebration was marked by the Holy Eucharist, with Fr. M. C. Rajan, Secretary of the CBCI Office for Justice, Peace and Development, concelebrating the Mass. The Eucharistic celebration was offered especially for those who work for peace, justice and the well-being of society. Through the liturgy and reflections, the faithful were reminded that the Christian mission is not limited to prayer but also calls believers to stand for fairness, equality, compassion and respect for every person. The theme emphasised that the journey towards a just society begins with individual attitudes, decisions and actions. The observance also encouraged parishioners to recognise their responsibility in bringing positive change within their families and communities. By practising forgiveness, compassion, equality and respect in daily relationships, Christians can contribute to creating a more peaceful and inclusive society. Fr. M. C. Rajan’s presence further strengthened the message of the celebration and encouraged the faithful to renew their commitment to the Church’s mission of justice and peace. Parish Priest Fr. Christy, together with the priests, liturgical team and parishioners, organised the programme as a meaningful occasion for prayer, reflection and community participation. The celebration concluded with a renewed call to put Christian values into action and to become instruments of justice and peace in society.
